You’ll find them in the upper northwest of California where the redwoods meet the Pacific ocean. Alexandre Family Farm is a grass fed organic dairy farm that never uses added hormones or antibiotics. Plus, they are the first American dairy farm to be certified regenerative by the Savory Institute. In addition to creating milk that has far superior nutrition than conventional dairy, they are improving soil microbial growth and sequestering carbon through their practice of strategic rotational grazing. Is Serenity Kids A2 Toddler Formula suitable for children under the age of 12 months?
This product is not an infant formula so we are not allowed to recommend this product for infants. Our Toddler Formula contains the required FDA nutrients for infant formula, however, it has not yet gone through the FDA evaluation process that is required for infant formula. So until then, we can only recommend our Grass Fed A2 Whole Milk Toddler Formula for children ages 12 months and up, or as directed by a health professional.
What are Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs)?
Despite the name, none of the ingredients in this product came from humans. HMO stands for Human Milk Oligosaccharides. HMOs are a group of unique prebiotics that are abundantly found in human milk – more than 100 different ones. Our formula uses two specific ones, 2′-fucosyllactose (2′-FL) and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) which encourage the growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract and plays a role in the development of the human immune system.
What are the 5 nucleotides?
Our toddler formula includes 5 nucleotides: Adenosine-5-Monophosphate, Cytidine-5-Monophosphate, Disodium Guanosine-5-Monophosphate, Disodium Inosine-5-Monophosphate, Disodium Uridine-5-Monophosphate. These nucleotides are non-protein compounds that play a key role in many biological processes and are considered to be conditionally essential nutrients for growing little ones. These nucleotides are known to be linked with promoting a healthy immune system, metabolism, blood flow, and the transmission of nerve signals between cells.
What is A2 Whole Milk?
A2 Whole Milk is milk sourced from cows that naturally produce only the A2 form of the beta-casein protein, as opposed to most dairy which contains A1 protein. We use Organic A2 Whole Milk from regeneratively farmed grass-fed American cows as a predominant ingredient because A2 beta-casein is the same primary protein found in human milk and the most natural to the human body so it is known to be easily absorbed and digested. A2 Whole Milk is a great source of protein, energy, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, B vitamins, iodine, healthy fats and amino acids.
What are A2 beta-casein proteins?
Caseins are phosphoproteins packed full of calcium, found in milk from mammals. A2 Whole Milk is milk sourced from cows that naturally produce only the A2 form of beta-casein protein. Over time, there was a genetic mutation in cows which allowed for an A1 beta-casein variation to form. It resulted in cows with two types of proteins — A1 and A2. Unfortunately, the A1 beta casein (which is found in most traditional dairy products and other milk-based formulas) can be difficult for humans to digest and can be linked to health issues.
Is your formula certified organic?
Serenity Kids toddler formula is made with organic ingredients and is produced in an organic certified facility. Serenity Kids only wants to provide the best for little ones – a formula that includes beneficial prebiotics (HMOs, GOS, FOS, and nucleotides), vitamins, minerals, and fortifications like wild algal oil that can’t be certified organic. Unfortunately, HMOs and nucleotides currently cannot be included in certified organic toddler and adult products but they are allowed in organic infant formulas. Serenity Kids made the tough choice to include these important fortifications in their toddler formula even though it meant the product can’t officially be classified as organic, because they’re all about squeezing in maximum nutrition.
Is the DHA extracted from algae with hexane?
Serenity Kids use non-hexane extracted DHA oils because it's better and safer for developing bodies & brains. We use a process called heterotrophic fermentation with a single-cell marine microalgae.
Why are there 6g of added sugars?
Organic Lactose is a naturally-occurring sugar and a source of the main type of carbohydrate found in breastmilk. It is classified by the FDA as an added sugar in foods. Most other formulas use corn syrup, rice syrup, or maltodextrin as the source of carbohydrates, whereas the organic lactose that we use is derived from organic cow’s milk.
Is there a possibility of allergen or cross-contamination?
Our A2 Whole Milk Toddler Formula is manufactured in a facility that is approved for infant formula manufacturing. It also processes eggs, milk, soy, wheat, and tree nuts. While they are present in the facility, there is a validated cleaning procedure that ensures all food residue is removed from processing equipment. Serenity Kids also tests the product after each production to ensure that the presence of any allergens in a previous run are not present.
My toddler has a lactose intolerance or dairy allergy. Can they still drink this?
Serenity Kids A2 Whole Milk Toddler Formula contains organic lactose and A2 whole milk that is known to be easier to digest, and many people who do not tolerate regular milk find they can tolerate A2. But this may not be true for all toddlers with a lactose intolerance or dairy allergy. Before you decide to use this product, consult your healthcare professional.
My toddler has galactosemia. Can they still drink this?
Serenity Kids A2 Whole Milk Toddler Formula contains organic lactose and A2 whole milk so it is not suitable for toddlers with galactosemia. Before you decide to use this product, consult your healthcare professional.
My toddler has a MTHFR gene mutation. Can they still drink this?
Yes, our A2 Whole Milk Toddler Formula uses L-Methylfolate and Methylcobalamin instead of folic acid. However, before you decide to use this product, consult your healthcare professional.
